Why Run Amigos

Every mile is better together.

Connection

Make friends before you land

Meet runners in Austin ready to race abroad. We’ll grab coffee and train together before the trip, then celebrate in Mexico City. You’ll come home with friends to keep running with.

Fitness

Get in shape through running

Chasing your first half marathon, your first race abroad, or a new PR in a new city? Whether you’re just starting out or already have a few races behind you, every pace is welcome. We’ll train together and show up race-ready.

Travel

Explore Mexico City with a local

Discover the food, neighborhoods and hidden spots locals love. The weekend is all planned, so you can join what you like and skip what you don’t.

Monica Gomez, Run Amigos host, after the Austin Half Marathon

Your host

Monica Gomez

I’m Monica, born in Mexico and now based in Austin. I joined a run club to make friends, back when I could barely run. Less than a year later, I ran my first marathon in Australia. Running became my passion. I’ve raced in Austin and abroad since, and my next challenge is a triathlon at CapTex Austin. If I can, so can you!

Before running, there was travel: a career in the travel industry and homes in Taiwan, China, Brazil and Canada. But Mexico is home. Spanish is my first language, and I can’t wait to show you my country.

Now I want to help you connect, see the world and get fit through running. See you at the start line!

The plan
